John Ivanko is an award-winning photographer, author, writer and national speaker. He co-authored, with Maya Ajmera, six children's multicultural photobooks, including the award-winning To Be a Kid, To Be an Artist, Be My Neighbor and Animal Friends (Global Fund for Children Books /Charlesbridge), all featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show. The books, proceeds from which benefit the Global Fund for Children, depict a culturally diverse world while promoting understanding and tolerance. He also contributes to other Global Fund for Children Books as well as elementary school textbooks from Gibbs Smith.
John is also a co-author of ECOpreneuring (New Society), a Gold medal recipient from Axiom Business Book Awards, Farmstead Chef cookbook, Homemade for Sale and Rural Renaissance (all from New Society Publishers) as well as Edible Earth cookbook (Paradigm Press, Ltd.). He served as a lead photographer and writer for Renewing the Countryside: WISCONSIN. John has also authored The Least Imperfect Path travelogue about his trip around the world and contributed to Llewellyn's Green Living Guide.
John writes about, promotes and implements various facets of eco-travel and sustainable living on his farm-based enterprise, Inn Serendipity Bed & Breakfast.
